Perrin and Rowe Cabinet Handles in unlacquered polished brass quietly shine above the new oak parquet flooring by Forte, which now runs the length of the house. A steel door by Lifebuilt Construction was added at the end of the hallway to acknowledge and celebrate the blending of old and new. All the cabinetry handles by Perrin and Rowe in unlacquered brass are simple, beautiful jewellery on the shaker style satin finish joinery.

For the new owner, this traditional Ponsonby villa in Auckland presented as two entities: a previous architectural re-design of the kitchen and living area left the remainder of the home appearing dated and tired.
Abbey Lang Home was called in to revive the old villa and in doing so unify the two parts. The brief was to create a home that was welcoming and calm, with a strong focus on colour and materiality while still honouring the identity of the home.
