Armac Martin have launched a new ‘Matt Black’ finish and it is superb.
With a growing trend for black furniture fittings, Armac Martin have been working on the depth of colour and its durability to provide a finish that offers a contemporary look, perfect for many of their collections.
As Commercial Director, Richard McGrail explains: “Clients have been asking for a black finish for some time but, until now, we have been unable to find a process that we felt befitted our hardware in both appearance and durability."
It is always important to Armac Martin that when they bring something new to market they have full confidence in its durability.
"Hardware must last the lifetime of your joinery, so developing a durable finish whilst also creating an attractive and contemporary matte lustre was very important to us."
Armac Martin’s solid brass hardware is hand finished to give a brushed satin appearance before it is shot blasted to create the desired surface finish.
A highly durable matt black coloured lacquer is then applied which is baked in their ovens to ensure the lacquer cures to offer lasting protection. Baking the lacquer ensures that a harder and more durable layer will protect the finish from day to day usage and oxidisation.
The versatility of the finish allows you to make the perfect contrast with your home interior projects by contrasting with lighter hues, or a complement to rich, darker tones.
